Aquatic Animal Medical Facility

The Aquatic Animal Medical Facility (AAMF) was built within existing aquarium space. The facility includes Pharmacy, Radiology, Treatment and Surgical areas fit into a compact area. JCA coordinated with a local manufacturer of medical boom equipment during the design and installation phases to provide state-of-the-art equipment for the facility.

The location of the AAMF offers a unique opportunity to let the facility double as a new interactive exhibit. The distinct zones will be identified on the exhibit side of the facility, providing patrons a clear understanding of the form and function of each space without entering (and disrupting) the medical environment. Simulated windows will provide a view into daily activities through the use of flat panel displays showing video of actual equipment and procedures. Interactive panels will allow adults and children to make diagnosis or be quizzed on medical facts.
